Mr. William Foster - Biography

Mr. William Foster graduated from SWTSU in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education. He became Director of Music in Thorndale I.S.D. Although he was not a founding member, William joined other small school band directors to build the Association of Texas Small School Bands that has since joined Texas Music Educators Association in the All State Band endeavor. In 1992, William moved to Caldwell I.S.D. where he taught for the next twenty four years, and retired in 2016. During his time in Caldwell, he had many award winning bands, and began his career as an adjudicator for the UIL Contests as well as a clinician working with region bands across the state. Through this time William also organized the All State Band in San Antonio on numerous occasions. After retirement William was elected to the CISD School Board in 2017. He soon found himself presenting for TASB at multiple conferences, and this past year has been the Board President at Caldwell I.S.D. William Foster’s vision for CISD is providing each student opportunities to succeed.
