STEM Activities at CISD STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Virtually every school in the United States is trying to improve on their "STEM" activities. The CBS TV show 60 Minutes recently aired a story on how schools are helping young students learn about STEM subjects. One of the tools schools are utilizing are littleBits. They are complex hand-held tools that introduce students to engineering. Caldwell ISD received a grant from the Caldwell Education and Leadership Foundation to purchase a set for the intermediate campus.

National Signing Day November 14, 2018, National Signing Day was a great day for three Lady Hornet Softball players.
CISD Passes Two Bonds On November 6, 2018, the voters of Caldwell ISD passed two bonds; Proposition A for $36,225,000 and Proposition B for $3,750,000. Proposition A would provide new buildings and renovations while Proposition B refunds the Maintenance Tax Notes the district took out in the summer to replace the HVAC system at the high school.

Construction Begins on New HVAC System On Sunday, June 3, the contractors begin ripping out ceiling tile for the heating and air conditioning system to be installed in the high school building. The $3.6 million renovation is being performed by E3 Entergral Solutions. The work is expected to be completed by the time school starts in mid-August.
Campus Changes in 2018-2019 On April 4, 2018, the Board of Trustees voted to change the grade alignments of three of our campuses. The Middle School will keep only 7th and 8th graders, Intermediate will be home to 4th - 6th graders and the Elementary will be a PK - third grade campus.

District of Innovation Application in Process Passed in the 84th Legislative Session, House Bill 1842 allows school districts the opportunity to build flexibility into their operations and planning processes, including certain exemptions from provisions of the Texas Education Code.
